Joe Scarborough successfully turned a career as a high profile attorney and member of the U.S. House of Representatives into another chapter as a best selling author and a political pundit and host of his own show, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Joe Scarborough attended the University of Alabama while earning his undergraduate degree and supplemented his income by teaching high school and playing and recording music with his band, Dixon Mills, while attending law school at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. After rising to prominence as a local attorney in Pensacola, Joe Scarborough ran for political office in the U.S. House of Representatives representing the 1st District of Florida and remained in that post from 1995 until 2001. A Republican, Joe Scarborough appearances in Congress earned him the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business.
