Darrell Waltrip

Darrell Lee Waltrip is a 3-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, winner of the Daytona 500 and 5-time winner of The Coca-Cola 600. Having won 84 Cup Series races over the course of his driving career, he has won more than any driver in NASCAR today. His motivational ride to the top includes the all-time track record of 67 wins at the Music City Motorplex, counting NASCAR, USAC, ASA, and local track races.

Waltrip also won the popularity contest along the way, awarded NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award in 1989 and 1990, American Driver of the Year three years in row, and even NASCAR’s Driver of the Decade during the 80s. His legendary time on the track earned a nomination for the inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame induction class in 2010 and 2011.

The Tennessean retired from racing in 2000 but signed a deal with Fox to appear as a lead NASCAR analyst and race commentator. Waltrip first made an appearance in that role at the 2001 Daytona 500, the race in which Dale Earnhardt famously died. Waltrip later gave the invocation at his funeral and was instrumental in helping to eventually pass mandatory head-and-neck restraint safety devices for all of NASCAR.

One of Waltrip’s on-air motivational catchphrases has become "Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing boys!" at the start of each race. He has appeared in public service announcements for breast cancer awareness and is currently contracted to continue on Fox as their lead NASCAR analyst and race commentator through 2014.
