As one of the best players to ever take to the links, Ben Crenshaw, also known by his nickname “Gentle Ben,” remains a top figure in the golfing world.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Ben Crenshaw appearances gained a great deal of attention while he was still attending Austin High School and then the University of Texas at Austin. While playing for the Longhorns, Ben Crenshaw appearances on the golf course resulted in three consecutive wins in the NCAA Championships. After graduating from the University of Texas, he turned pro, and in 1973, he played his first game as a professional, which he also won, making him the second person in the history of the PGA tour to do so.

Ben Crenshaw reached the height of the sport by winning the prestigious Masters Tournament in 1984 and then once again in 1995. He also has played on four Ryders Cup teams and served as the captain of one team. Throughout his career, he has acquired 19 PGA tour wins, one European tour win and 29 professional victories all told.

Today, Ben Crenshaw appearances occur sporadically on the PGA Senior Tour and PGA Champions Tour and also in conjunction with his role as a golf course designer in the firm of Coore and Crenshaw, in which he is partners with Bill Coore. Other Ben Crenshaw appearances have come as he accepted awards, including induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002, the 1991 Bob Jones Award, the 1997 Old Tom Morris Award and the 2001 Payne Stewart Award.
